Food in Motion

I am fascinated by the relationship between food and action. At first glance, food is stagnant, inanimate. But a plate of food is subject to all kinds of motion before it even reaches the dinner table.

We animate food when we sprinkle sugar or salt or Parmesan cheese; when we pour milk into cereal or coffee; when we fold chocolate chips into cookie dough, or when we squeeze lemon into tea. This series captures all of the movement that is involved within the culinary arts.
